Background and organ training

Andrew is an accomplished organist who equally enjoys the thrill of solo recital work or leading worship as an accompanist.

As a student, Andrew held the posts of Assistant Organist at Beverley Minster and Organ Scholar at the University of Hull, before undertaking postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.

In addition to several BBC radio broadcasts, he has performed as both soloist and accompanist in venues across the UK, including cathedrals such as Bradford, Carlisle, Chichester, Ely, Lincoln, St Asaph’s, St Paul’s, Ripon and Rochester.

Recent recitals have included St Mary-le-Bow, St Michael’s Cornhill and St Paul’s Cathedral.

“Playing for church services, funerals and weddings is the core part of my work as an organist.  My skills as a sight-reader, improviser and versatile accompanist are coupled with over 30 years’ experience.  I am happy to rehearse and direct choirs of all ages and abilities, and have an up to date, portable DBS.  For special events, I can supply instrumental or choral soloists and ensembles.”
